What is the GST?
GST stands for Goods and Services Tax. The GST is a consumption tax of 10% that aims to tax private, final consumption expenditure.

GST is a tax that is charged on the supply of goods and services in Australia and on goods imported into Australia. No GST is payable on goods exiting Australia. As a result, International purchasers will not be charged GST.

The GST has been introduced by the Commonwealth Government as part of its Tax Reform Agenda and replaces the old complex, outdated and unfair tax system.

The GST took effect in Australia from 1 July 2000.
